Jonathan Schooler is a psychologist studying conscious memory, decision-making and the phenomena of 'mind wandering'. Roughly one third of the time our conscious minds are daydreaming, figuratively wandering off as non-conscious auto-pilot functions perceive and control behavior. How is mind wandering mediated in the brain? How does it relate to non-conscious processes? To creativity? Does the neural correlate of a wandering mind correspond with a mobile agent?
