Exhibition: Design Communication Basics

This exhibition showcases year 1 student work of design fundamentals subject – SD1103 Communication Basics for Designers. Since experience becomes one of the core economic oerings over the last two decades, designers need to be sensible of the design elements and thus, to develop visual and textual languages that allow them to communicate and express their design projects with appropriate terminology.

By introducing Don Norman’s emotional design model, students will explore the visceral and behavioural levels of design. Through data collection, annotation, and categorisation, this subject introduces students abstract terms that describe human emotions and experiences, then associates these terms with design principles and patterns. Students will illustrate design principles that associated emotional design with an adequate design example. This exhibition showcases the result of students’ learning journeys.
