A very new perspective of origami, an art with hundreds of years of history, with the inputs of practising designers and students from PolyU Design.
Designers use origami-inspired structures, folding styles, different raw materials and sophisticated calculations to bring a variety of origami elements into everyday life, realising many different design works that brought us unexpected surprises.
In order to enhance the designers' understanding in origami, its structural principle, the selection of different materials and its potential, PolyU Design’s Material Resource Centre (MRC) presents an array of origami-inspired houseware and furniture from the industry as well as origami designs and installations by the students. We hope that the exhibition will be a source of inspiration for designers to create practical works that can solve different problems for our future lives.
