Brian Lee is a design educator and practitioner about product design, with specific expertise in the Asian lifestyle design research, traditional Chinese furniture making and contemporary product design methodologies, and with an interest in the ways in which the emerging techonology and design for sustainability, material & cultural studies, production method and urban artisanal practice intersect.
Born in Hong Kong, Brian Lee gained his Degree in Industrial & Product Design and a Masters Degree in Design from School of Design, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He worked in design consultants for developing medical equipments in HK & Frankfurt, OBM design for watches & clocks, lifestyle products and jewelry design, and was a Design Director of a furniture manufacturer & retailer in HK & Shanghai. Lee joined School of Design as a lecturer since 2006, where he specialized in product semantics, design research, and product & furniture design. He is also appointed as the Programme Leader of Higher Diploma in Product Innovation Technologies and Deputy Leader of Asian Lifestyle Design Research Lab in School of Design. | Email : sdlee | Tel : 2766 4922 | | |
