/ Multimedia Innovation Centre (MIC)

The Multimedia Innovation Centre (MIC) was established in 1999 and integrated into the School of Design in 2005. Serving as one of leading proponents in digital entertainment, MIC is strategically established to meet the opportunities and challenges of this newly expanding industry in Asia including Hong Kong, Mainland China and South East Asian countries. Being a research centre in the internationally known HK PolyU School of Design, MIC’s uniqueness is the inter-disciplinary nature of its staff and their approach to applying technology and design in digital media products and services including games, animation, media production and human machine interaction.

MIC offers an exciting taught master program in multimedia and entertainment technology, which has emerged as one of the leading postgraduate programs in multimedia and entertainment in Asia.

MIC works closely and actively with industry and community through collaboration with industrial partners in research and development and delivering professional consultancy services.

Overall, MIC is committed to research and development, teaching and consultancy works and will continue its endeavor to be a centre of excellence in digital media and digital entertainment research and education in this region.
