The Design Education specialism is directed at those who are interested in enhancing learning and teaching, becoming a thinker in shaping the future of design education, and building a career in academia. Candidates joining this specialism are expected to read extensively, think creatively and reflect critically. Above all, one must be an independent learner interested in research and dissemination of findings. Minimally, the candidates are expected to have a mixture of at least four years professional practice in design and one to two years (part-time) teaching experience at tertiary level.
