Sub-degree design students demonstrate creative talent

The School of Design (SD) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is staging the Design Graduation Show 2005, which showcases its annual exhibit of works from graduating sub-degree students in various design disciplines to the public.

Themed “Pupa”, the show was kicked off yesterday (27 May) by Mr Charles Ng, Chairman of Hong Kong Designers Association, Mr Alex Fung, Acting Head, PolyU’s School of Design and Dr Simon Leung, Director of Hong Kong Community College (HKCC).

This large-scale exhibition will feature more than 200 creative projects from students of Diploma in Design Studies, Associate in Design, Higher Diploma in Multimedia Design & Technology and Higher Diploma in Product Innovation Technologies. Highlights of this year include over 40 outstanding works done by the first batch of graduates of HKCC’s Associate in Design.

The exhibition is free and open to the public. Details are as follows:

For more than four decades, the School of Design has groomed celebrated designers contributing to various industries in Hong Kong and the international community, including fashion designer Ms Vivienne Tam, Mr Raman Hui, animation specialist of the Oscar-winning movie Shrek, and Mr Yip Kam-tim, who won another Oscar for Art Direction for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
