Organised by Hong Kong Design Centre for secondary schools students. PolyU Design was in charge of the Tea Leave Paper Nightlight workshops.
PolyU Design invited Worksheet Studio, a company founded by our alumni, to host the workshop. Car, the tutor on the right was introducing the characteristic of the tea leave paper and its recycle process.
Participants started with a structure with wires.
Every student had his/her own design.
Starting from zero, participants had to explore the possibilities of different forms.
Students from PolyU Design assisted in the nightlight design and making.
After a few attempts, the structure was taking shape.
Participants then applied the weaving techniques with the tea leave paper on the nightlight.
Jade, the tutor from Worksheet Studio was telling the participants about the relationship between light and shadow.
The most exciting moment was turning on the light!
Participants are gathering around and study others nightlights.
Let us see some of the nightlights!
Both participants and students from PolyU Design are very happy!
Hope to see you next year!
