Slowly But Surely
My project explores the topic of depression from the perspective of group sports where social connection and exercise can provide long-term benefits to fight against depression. The idea is to present people the slowness of life that depression brings about. For instance, the slowness in the way a person reacts and performs daily chores. It is so easy to be confused as a sign of laziness or personal weakness when it is not. But if depression slows a person down, the people around can too slow down their pace, and from their move forward with the depressed person. Hence the campaign name, Slowly But Surely, meaning it is possible to reach recovery, to be free from depression with the companionship and support from people around. Getting active together slowly, though the transformation takes time, it will pass surely.
