Interactive Exhibition of Traditional Crafts 互動工藝展覽
In recent year, different traditional mom-and-pop stores closed down and people have gained more attention on the local heritages. The government and NGOs have put more efforts on cultural heritage preservation of local craftsmanship. However, there are limitations on current strategies of inheriting the crafts skills: low interactivity, insufficient depth of content and low popularity. Our design is an interactive handicraft exhibition with imitating the old Hong Kong scene. There is 7 main local handicrafts mom-and-pop stores which give audience trials of artefacts making process from installations and displays videos with instruction and store owners’ storytelling.
