About the Research
As one of the important sense organs, human ear has a very complex structure and unique face location, which can even be used as identification for face recognition. Ear-related products designed based on anthropometric data can improve the sound quality, physical comfortableness and fitness when used. 3D scanning techniques provide a new access for researchers to understand the 3D model. However, very few research has focused on 3D ear anthropometry especially among Chinese population until now. This research will not only improve the accuracy of the whole head and face model, but also help to improve the ear-related product design. Hence, the aim of the study is to research on the anthropometry of the 3D ear and provide a solution to design ear-related product.
