Benches used in museum usually affords sit and rest only. A group of design students from PolyU Design makes six museum seats and explores alternative visitor's experience to enable learning of the historical contexts promoted at the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum. Different engagement strategies including collaborative play, interactive tangible and visual experience are prototyped and installed at different locations.
This project is realised through the collaboration with Leisure and Cultural Services Department and some of the key wooden structures are upcycled from 50 years old chairs donated by Shun Hing Restaurant, the 80-year-old restaurant closed down in late 2016.
