The exhibition is done by our School of Design Higher Diploma in Multimedia Design & Technology students. (lead by our tutor Mr. Leo Chan )
The exhibition shows 12 posters which are composed a poster with typographic treatments based on studnents' selected quotes. While the content of the quote will set the scene for artistic exploration, the posters show the exploration on letterforms and typographic principles, such as fonts, kerning, spacing, leading, measure, and paragraphs, in order to reveal the symbolic power and communicate the meanings of the quotes textually and graphically with aesthetic delights.
Desktop publishing is a subject that introduces students the history and development of typography and printing technology. Students will learn the anatomy and terminology of letterforms to be used in layout design with grid system. After finish this subject, students will be able to arrange layouts for publications with textual, visual and graphical elements with the consideration of typographic principles. With the use of authoring tools, students learn desktop publishing processes by integrating design terminologies and principles with pre-press output.
